Advisory work to begin on 3-year Al-Mirqab redevelopment project
Kuwait:
The Public Authority for Housing Welfare
has signed a contract to begin advisory work on a major redevelopment project in
the Al-Mirqab area, aimed at transforming the centrally located site into a hub
for non-residential urban investment. Spanning over 428,990 square meters, the
Al-Mirqab project is designed to support Kuwait City’s long-term urban and
economic development goals.
The initiative includes the preparation of a
comprehensive master plan, a land-use budget, and technical studies to guide
investment offerings. The plan focuses on integrating modern infrastructure,
improved transport networks, and sustainable design to accommodate future
population and economic growth. According to officials, the area will be
equipped with logistical and service infrastructure that aligns with Kuwait’s
broader development strategies.
Minister of State for Municipal and Housing
Affairs, Abdullatif Al-Meshari, emphasized the project’s role in enhancing urban
efficiency and attracting investment. “Al-Mirqab supports the state’s efforts to
boost economic activity and create viable investment opportunities within the
city,” he said.
The project, expected to be completed within 36
months, aims to position Al-Mirqab as a landmark development in the capital,
offering high-value investment opportunities backed by integrated services and
modern planning. Anwar Al-Helailah, Acting Deputy Director General for
Investment and Private Sector Projects at the the Authority for the Investment
and Private Sector Projects Sector, noted the site’s central location as a major
advantage, reinforcing its potential to become a key commercial and service
destination in the heart of Kuwait City.
