Kuwait hosts 35th GCC justice ministers meeting, stresses unity and cooperation
Kuwait:
Minister of Justice Nasser Al-Sumait on Sunday
affirmed that the 35th meeting of GCC justice ministers reflects the spirit of
Gulf unity and the collective commitment to advancing joint legal cooperation.
Chairing the closing session in Kuwait, Al-Sumait stressed the importance of
continuous follow-up by specialized committees to implement agreed decisions and
strengthen the GCC’s reputation as a model of coordinated action.
Al-Sumait thanked his counterparts for their
active participation, constructive contributions and the resolutions reached
during the session. He also extended best wishes to the Kingdom of Bahrain as it
prepares to host the upcoming 46th Gulf Summit, praying for continued security,
stability and prosperity across GCC states under the guidance of their wise
leadership.
During the opening session on Sunday, Al-Sumait

integration and coordination among GCC justice ministries. He emphasized that
Kuwait’s hosting of the meeting continues its historic role in supporting joint
Gulf initiatives, underscoring the belief that justice is essential for
development and stability.
“Amid global challenges, our countries enjoy the
blessings of security and stability thanks to God and the wisdom of our leaders,
who built this cohesive Gulf entity and preserved our identity, hopes and
aspirations,” he said. “We work together sincerely to unify efforts and
strengthen cooperation to achieve our common destiny.” Al-Sumait addressed
ongoing regional challenges, condemning “brutal attacks” by the Zionist entity
in violation of international law and expressing Kuwait’s full support for
Qatar. He described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as a blatant breach of
international law and reaffirmed the GCC’s steadfast solidarity with the
Palestinian people.
He conveyed deep appreciation to His Highness the
Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for their support of justice and Gulf
cooperation. He also thanked GCC justice ministers, Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi,
and the Secretariat’s staff and technical teams for their efforts, expressing
hope that the meeting’s discussions would result in clear, high-quality
decisions aligned with the aspirations of Gulf leaders and peoples.
GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi
praised the ministries’ efforts to enhance judicial integration and strengthen
the rule of law, noting that these initiatives have elevated GCC judicial
systems regionally and internationally. He highlighted the tangible efforts of
member states to consolidate justice institutions and improve coordination
between ministries, contributing to the GCC’s broader goals and vision for a
prosperous and solid future.
Al-Budaiwi described the fraternal meetings as a
reflection of shared dedication, love and commitment to achieving judicial
advancement in line with the wise guidance of GCC leaders. He expressed
gratitude to His Highness the Amir for Kuwait’s leadership during its presidency
of the session, commending the Government of Kuwait for ensuring the success of
joint Gulf meetings. He also extended thanks to ministers, undersecretaries, and
members of the Committee of Heads of Departments of International Cooperation
and International Relations for their tireless efforts in strengthening GCC
judicial cooperation.
